Why is regular diesel used to grow Bio-Diesel instead of Bio -Diesel fuel?

If you grow crops to make Bio- Deisel can't you run the tractors and other farm equipment off of the same bio-Deisel?
Then the people that account for using Diesel as a pollutant in the creation of Bio-Diesel are idiots?

While I agree that some equipment may need to be altered any unit that has been in service since 1991 should be able to use at least a mixture or Bio-Diesel blend. B20 at least. Is there a clean out period? Yes, Generally the first few tankfuls will require an extra fuel filter change or two but once the guck is cleaned out most people notice no difference.

I have a jd 6420 farm tractor , the engine seems to miss when i press the trottle to 1500 rpm, any ideaS?

The tractor runs fine while standing , its a north american edition ,its a 2004

ignore the first guy he obviuosly thinks its a petrol not a deisel, it is most likely a blocked fuel filter as all agricultural machines suffer badly from it especially if using tax free red deisel as the dye blocks them up. can also check to see if the high pressure fuel hoses on the pump are leaking but to be honest problems like that also make it difficult to start
